Our annual Pass the Pouch fundraiser will officially kick off this fall, but donations are welcome at any time and serve to fill the gaps in public funding in ways that enhance the experience of LWHS students, staff, and community members. Click HERE to donate today! LWHS PTSA suggests an annual donation of $100 per student, however, any amount - larger or smaller - is greatly appreciated. Reminder: Reflections 2024-2025: Accepting Imperfection Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. The theme of the Reflections program for 2024-2025 is “Accepting Imperfection”. Students have the whole summer break to think about how to work on this Reflections art project. The due date for 2024-2025 will be around mid-November. We’re looking for adults to provide brief senior portrait sessions for students in need. We know we have a lot of really skilled amateur photographers in our parent population: if that describes you, please consider giving your time and talent to help give access to this tradition to some of our seniors, for whom portrait sessions might otherwise cause a financial burden. Our goal is to give these seniors a portrait that they would be able to use for the school yearbook...and also to give them a keepsake from this very exciting milestone year! Five LWHS Students named National Merit Semifinalists Lake Washington High School is proud to announce five seniors have been named in the 70th annual  National Merit Scholarship Program : Rachel Kelley, Ashwika Mattam, Zachary McKay, Robert Michailov, and Sakshi Verma. Students qualified for these awards by completing the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The semifinalists include the highest-scoring students in each state. The semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. Mandatory training to be held Sept 24th at 6:30pm via Zoom LWHS PTSA's award-winning College Application Workshop program provides seniors with college application essay and personal statement support. We also steer students in the right direction for any additional help they may need. This is a great way to connect with students and help them achieve their goals. LWPTSA Council, in coordination with Lake Washington School District, is hosting our 8th annual Welcome Event for New and International Families on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 7 pm , at the  LWSD Resource Center  ( 16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052 ). Reminder: Free Practice SAT / ACT Tests - Register by Sept 18th LWHS PTSA is partnering with Princeton Review to give students the opportunity to take the SAT or ACT just “for practice” at no cost. Students can take this practice test any number of times and the scores from these do not go on their record.
